| So I just watch Gladiator, the title header thing is a quote from that. Words to live by.
My family is going up to my grandparents' house in Iowa this weekend and I have to stay here with my dad because of stuff, don't get me wrong, I'm glad to be doing the stuff I'm doing, but I really wanna be there for my family. It's the first mothers day without my great grandma, and it's gonna be rough on my family. Peace, Trey |

| So congratulations to the new Drum Majors, Andrew and Josh. Andrew's gonna be a really good drum major, as much as everyone doesn't want to admit it. I've known him longer than probably anyone in the band, and I know he's got what it's gonna take. Josh on the other hand.......lets just say I worry for the year after next. But never fear, we'll just get Susheel to be the Junior drum major for that year and everything will work out fine.
But seriously, everyone needs to fucking chill out. I know Snead and Haney are making some changes, but they've been doing this longer than we have, so can we give them a little credit. I want to direct a marching band when I grow up, but not because of the music stuff, if I wanted that I'd take a symphonic band or something. But I like marching band for marching band, there's just something about that's more fun than a concert setting. So can we all just cool down, take a step back, and look at the whole picture.
The rumor is that Haney is going to allow people to pick what instrument they want to play for drumline next year, based completely on the score they received on their audition. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!! When you go out and try out for a job or something, that's how it's gonna be. The people you're trying out for aren't gonna know you like Haney and Snead do, they're gonna take you only based on your intereview/tryout. GET OVER IT!!!
I'm done with this shit. Peace, Trey |

| So, I'm single. And I have been my entire life. And I'm quite ok with that. |

| In Katie Johnston's xanga, she said that sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the big picture. It reminded me of this song from The Prince Of Egypt.
A single thread in a tapestry though its color brightly shines can never see its purpose in the pattern of the grand design and the stone that sits up on the very top of the mountain's mighty face does it think that it's more important than the stones that forms the base So how can you see what your life is worth or where your value lies ohhhh, you can never see through the eyes of man you must look at your life look at your life through heaven's eyes lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes(2X) A lake of gold in the desert sand is less than a cool fresh spring and to one lost sheep, a shepard boy is greater than the richest king should a man lose everything he owns has he truly lost his worth or is it the beginning of a new and brighter birth So how do you measure the worth of a man in wealth or strength or size in how much he gained or how much he gave the answer will come to ya to look at his life through heaven's eyes lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes(2X) and that's why we share all we have with you though there's little to be found when all you've got is nothing there's lots to go around No life can escape being blown about by the winds of change and chance and though you never know all the steps you must learn to join the dance you must learn to join the dance lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes
Basically what it's saying is, that you really can't see the big picture, you can see some of it maybe, but you can never really see the whole thing. But you just have to beleive that it's there, and that it's beautiful. Just trust that God made the big picture beautiful.
And that's what faith is. Peace, Trey PS-He's always there for you, and so am I |
